“Make a hand puppet” has been on the to-do list for quite a while. Actually, I’ve been meaning to make a hand puppet pattern so I could make numerous hand puppets. I found the time this weekend, and here is the little friend who appeared.

Hand puppet holding a finger puppet!
He’s got his own puppet. Isn’t that adorable?

I’m getting in a puppet frame of mind right about now. This will be my third summer teaching a week-long class on puppet making to kids at a local arts center. We spend the week making various puppets and the last day, we perform a puppet show for their parents. It’s great fun, and I wish I could teach classes like that all the time. As it is, I actually take time off from my *real* job to teach. But it’s worth it - I am building my teaching experience, and it reminds me that “the grind” is not necessarily inevitable.
